ampa Police have been searching for the man that pointed a gun at two people in a Channelside Garage early last Sunday morning in an attempted
robbery. They have now made an arrest and the man charged with two counts of
armed robbery is the son of a longtime Tampa Police officer. Paul Nicholas McDonald was
charged in Hillsborough County, taken to Orient Road Jail and booked on $15,000 bond.

Channelside Garage Armed Robbery Suspect Is The Son Of A Tampa Police OfficerPolice tracked McDonald when they were called by a school resource deputy. The school official was alerted by an IMPACT class teacher that McDonald was looking at a police bulletin of the robbery on-line. She asked McDonald if that was him in the bulletin and he said it wasn’t. He was taken in by police after that and McDonald’s mother identified her son from a surveillance video taken in the garage.
