Tampa Bay Buccaneer cornerback Aquib Talib made headlines during the season when he got into an altercation with a cab driver early one morning and was charged with battery. The battery charge followed Talib allegedly striking a cab driver on a ride from a St. Petersburg club to a Tampa hotel. The NFL player hopes to have the simple battery charge resolved by entering a diversion program in Pinellas County.
According to TBO.com a first time offender is eligible to enter the diversion program upon approval. If the person is allowed to enroll and successfully completes the program, the charges can be dismissed without prejudice. Talib will go to court in a month and find out if he will be allowed to enroll in the program.
