Robbery And Aggravated Assault At Dunedin McDonald’s Drive-Thru Window

Jack Burns has been charged with
aggravated assault and
robbery with a weapon for trying to rob a McDonald’s cashier with a broken beer bottle at the drive-thru. The 33-year-old
Dunedin man was
arrested after threatening to hurt himself with a piece of the bottle before sheriff’s deputies calmed the situation.

According to TBO.com Burns drove up to the McDonald’s cashier and
asked for change for a dollar. When the register opened he threatened
the employee with the broken bottle demanding money. The McDonald’s
employee backed away and Burns allegedly took the cash drawer and drove
off in a white Ford Explorer.

OxyContin Robbery At CVS In Lakeland Takes Place In The Middle Of The Afternoon

The epidemic of prescription drug dealing and addiction has been well documented lately but it only takes one glaring incident to show how serious the problem has become. That took place at a Lakeland CVS in Polk County Yesterday. A man walked into the drug store in the middle of the day with a knife and robbed the store of OxyContin pills. According to TBO.com the number of robberies involving prescription pills is up nationally.

This is the first robbery in Polk County of a pharmacy in 14 months. The suspect is still at large and is reported to be driving a black Ford Thunderbird. He is described as a white male about 6 feet tall. The robbery all told took less than one minute and nobody was hurt

Tampa Bay Men Busted Selling Stolen Kayak On Craigslist

The victim of a theft in Clearwater was surfing the Internet and came across his stolen items for sale on Craigslist. That led to an undercover Tampa police officer right to the thieves. Now the two men who ripped off the kayaks are in jail on charges ranging from violation of probation, grand theft, using the Internet to commit a felony and dealing in stolen goods.

Eric Wexler reported two kayaks stolen from his Clearwater home on Palm Island on February 27. Both kayaks were bright yellow and were missing vital parts he removed before storing them outside his home. The Internet posting for the kayak noted those parts would not be included setting off a red flag for Wexler. He called police to alert them to the on-line posting.

Channelside Garage Armed Robbery Suspect Is The Son Of A Tampa Police Officer

ampa Police have been searching for the man that pointed a gun at two people in a Channelside Garage early last Sunday morning in an attempted
robbery. They have now made an arrest and the man charged with two counts of
armed robbery is the son of a longtime Tampa Police officer. Paul Nicholas McDonald was
charged in Hillsborough County, taken to Orient Road Jail and booked on $15,000 bond.

Police tracked McDonald when they were called by a school resource deputy. The school official was alerted by an IMPACT class teacher that McDonald was looking at a police bulletin of the robbery on-line. She asked McDonald if that was him in the bulletin and he said it wasn’t. He was taken in by police after that and McDonald’s mother identified her son from a surveillance video taken in the garage.
